P.S. 44 Program

Projectivity was awarded the CASA grant by City Councilmember Debi Rose @cmdebirose to provide afterschool arts activities at PS 44 @ps44shineon in Mariners Harbor, Staten Island. Students were given black books and taught a wide range of art techniques to fill their books. In March we hosted an art exhibition at PS44 showcasing work from the first two groups. Our teaching artists @monaoman and @magieserpica.tattoo taught various art techniques and the students gave input on a mural that was to be designed and painted.

Unfortunately the 20 week arts program was cut short due to the pandemic and we were only able to complete our program with 2 groups instead of 4. In the last 2 weeks, we got permission to come back to PS44 and complete 2 murals for the school. The first designed by @Monaoman handpainted on the inside stairwell. And another outside on the front by Christian Penn @tekstthc

Thanks to Councilmember Debi Rose and also the UAU Fatherhood Matters @fatherhood_matters18 program.
